I have been leaving my tower on waking it when needed, the last few days I have been finding it woke by its self!  Checked setting they seem OK, I reboot when ever I try a change.  I must be missing something.

Hi, do you have Wake On Lan enabled if so turn it off (opposite of instructions) https://www.windowscentral.com/software-apps/windows-11/how-to-enable-wake-on-lan-on-windows-11

Turn off MS Fast Start : https://www.elevenforum.com/t/turn-on-or-off-fast-startup-in-windows-11.1212/

If you have a fast system then turn it off when not needed.

NOTE : NO OS was mentioned or system.

Hello there, I hope you are doing well.
If your computer wakes up on its own, start by disabling wake timers in Power Options. Then, in Device Manager under Network adapters, make sure the network card isn’t set to wake the PC. Check Task Scheduler for any tasks set to wake your computer and uncheck this option. You can also use the powercfg last wake command in Command Prompt to see what triggered the last wake-up. Finally, ensure Windows Update isn’t set to wake the PC. These steps should help stop unexpected wake-ups.
Thank You,
Mike Taku.

Also, make sure the cat isn't around the computer mouse just to mess with your brain.

First off my bad, I did not say which of my machines it is! I am an old guy so I have things up and down to keep me off the stairs

It is the Win 7 tower! The rest of my stuff is Ok, the W7 laptop is fine as is the W11 laptop as is the W10 tower.

With all due respect, you allegedly did NOT read the General Chat forum Note, which is as follows:

"HI! Please do not use this General Chat forum for computer support questions. If you are looking for support, please post your question in the appropriate forum."

Which in your case would be the Windows 7 forum.

Good luck! :)
