Windows 7 64bit very slow start up error log output

Hi

My system is a old but (was) working fine PC with SSD C drive and three conventional drives for storage etc.

Of late when starting up there can be a significant delay or it will not start at all.

I've noticed "Waiting group policy client" and "waiting user profile service"

Admin logs have a few suspect report error.

Event 1542 Windows cannot load classes registry file.  DETAIL - Unspecified error from User Profile Service.

Event 7023 The WWAN AutoConfig service terminated with the following error: Access is denied. from Service Control Manager

Event 0002 Session "Homegroup Log" failed to start with the following error: 0xC0000035 Kernel-EventTracing.

I do have a NAS that is disconnected just now.

Could anyone help me sort the old girl out please?

Please download MiniToolBox  , save it to your desktop and run it.   Checkmark the following checkboxes:
  List last 10 Event Viewer log
  List Installed Programs
  List Users, Partitions and Memory size.
 
Click Go and paste the content into your next post.
 
Also...please Publish a Snapshot using Speccy,  taking care to post the link of the snapshot in your next post.

   Go to  website, and download the free version on the left.  Click Download from ccleanercom (the FileHippo link requires an extra click). Or if you want to use a portable version of Speccy (which doesn't require installation), click the builds page link and download the portable version. You will now be asked where you want to save the file. The best place to put it is the Desktop, as it will be easy to find later.

    After the file finishes downloading, you are ready to run Speccy. If you downloaded the installer, simply double-click on it and follow the prompts until installation is complete. If you downloaded the portable version, you will need to unzip it before use. Right-click the ZIP file and click Extract all. Click Next. Open up the extracted folder and double-click on Speccy.
 
     Once inside Speccy, it will look similar to this (with your computer's specifications, of course):
 


     Now, at the top, click File > Publish Snapshot.

     Click Yes > then Copy to Clipboard

Now, once you are back in the forum topic you are posting in, click the ADD REPLY or REPLY TO THIS TOPIC button. Right-click in the empty space of the Reply box and click Paste. Then, click Post below the Reply box.

I note the highlights in bold, not sure why Defender is still trying to run as I've used Bitdefender for very many years.

I see several potential sources of problems, with none more important than the fact that Win 7 is now unsupported.  In effect, IMO...that says that anyone choosing to use Win 7 faces potential problems with malware.

Your Win 7 reflects an install date of 2014...that's 10 years ago.  Unless you are more knowledgeable (and lucky) than most of us, your chances for malware situations are extensive.

Your chosen AV is Bit Defender, which seems like a questionable choice from what I read.  I believe you would be better served by disabling/uninstalling Windows Defender and Bit Defender...and trusting a current app like Malwarebytes with system defense.

I further suggest that you uninstall and stay away from Wise and TuneUp applications.

The fact that you have a system message indicating the presence of malware would normally suggest that you open a malware topic in the BC Malware Forum...but due to the fact Win 7 is totally unsupported by MS, I don't know how beneficial such might be.

I'm using Windows 7 because it works, I like it and now I'm retired I can't afford the constantly updating craze. If I could really choose I'd not even use Windows.

Surprised you don't rate Bitdefender! I used to run it alongside manual scans of Malwarebytes and it always found stuff MB did not, it was (last time I looked) one of the highly rated products.

However, if that's changed then I do need to look for something else, thanks.

Wise and Tune up are they from Teaking.com Windows repair? Saved my bacon many times that, but again if its no good I'll remove it.

The malware is the safe test file used to test AV Eirca.

What is the issue with the unloadable registry entry? is there a way to find out what is causing that?

Most often when Windows can't load a registry file, it's because of corruption, a filesystem error, or the hard drive itself can't read it, whether that drive is spinner or solid-state.

Your Speccy report does state that your Samsung C drive reports its own health as Good, but I'd still want some kind of hard drive diagnostic run on it.

I've faced slow startup issues on Windows 7 before. Using a tool like Delight Disk from Systweak helped speed things up for me. It cleans up junk files, optimizes disk space, and can also help identify issues causing delays during startup. After running it, my system started up much faster.
