this suggests you may have a developing problem with your hard drive.
As a first step I would backup all your data - stuff you have created or acquired - to external storage. Next, I would download and run Speccy, a free download from BC, you will find it here -
https://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/search/?keyword=Speccy
and see if it shows any errors on the drive. After that I would run the CHKDISK /R command on your hard drive.
To do this open a Command prompt. To do this type COMMAND into search and choose 'Run as administrator' from the pop-up menu. You will then get a black window with white text. type CHKDISK /R at the prompt and press 'Enter'.. You willl get a reponse saying it cannot run except at start up, do you you wish to restart Y of N. Click Y(es) and re-boot. Chkdisk will start to run on re-boot. Let it run until it is finished, depending on the performance of your computer and the size of your hard drive this quite a long time, an hour or more is not unusual so make sure your laptop is connected to the mains while you are running this.
When it finishes you will get a brief report saying one of three things. (1) No problems were found; (2) Problems were found and fixed; (3) Problems were found and not fixed. If you get the last one post back, otherwise see if the computer is running better and, again, if it isn'tt post back.
