Is there a way to disable Chrome Browser to stop opening tabs for each link that I click on?

I don't use Chrome, but Uncle Google found this:
https://www.makeuseof.com/chrome-opening-new-tabs-automatically-windows/
Perhaps check if that setting is enabled and, if so, disable it.
