Hello, so I have an issue that only seems to affect my PC where my internet speed will be slow for a while, and sometimes I can fix it by restarting my PC or disconnecting and reconnecting to the Wi-Fi, and sometimes I just have to wait awhile could be 30 min or an hour, and it eventually fixes itself. When this happens, I can check the speed from my phone while sitting at my PC and will get over 300 Mbps and yet when I check on my PC it will be around 20 but sometimes under 10. Also, it doesn't matter if I'm connected to the 2,.4GHZ or 5GHZ band, and it's a small house and my PC is the next room over. I have a TP-Link external Wi-Fi adapter that I use for my PC, so should be good enough in that regard.

So, any ideas on what could cause this issue and what I can do to fix it? I don't know how to tell if the problem is with my PC or router/modem.

Thanks

Hi, when speaking of computers please speak of the make/model as well the model info of your TP-Link.   As well the OS you are running.

Have you updated drivers and or Firmware for the TP-Link (unknown model)?   What about your Support Page for the (unknown) computer drivers for the Network Card / WIFI or if used INTEL the the Driver and Support Assistant.

Note : Some Intel Wifi devices are a issue in Windows 11.  A small range of them that WiFi drops out.

Thanks. The PC is one which I built myself and I will post the specs below. And the Tp-Link is the Archer TX20U model. Also yes, I'm pretty sure I have updated the drivers but will double-check. I recently formatted my drive and did a complete reinstallation of everything and updating, and the issue still persists. Lastly, I'm using Windows 10 not 11.

PC specs:

CPU- Ryzen 5 5500

GPU- RX 6660

RAM- 16GB

2TB SSD

Hi, so when you installed Windows the 1st thing you did afterwards was to install all your Drivers from your (unknown) Motherboard Support Page ??

As well is the BIOS Current ?

Archer TX20U  V1 or V1.60     as per page version and region : https://www.tp-link.com/us/support/download/archer-tx20u/v1/
