VMware. Can't run 3 virtual machines simultaneously

My laptop is Dell Latitude E5570 with OS Windows 10. CPU: Intel® Core™ i7-6820HQ CPU @ 2.70GHz 2.70 GHz. RAM: 16,0 ГБ. I am using VMware Workstation 16 Pro.

The problem is: When I am trying to run three virtual machines (OS: Ubuntu 22.04) simultaneously, my computer just kind of shuts down? The screen is black, and the computer doesn't respond to any manipulations. However, my keyboard reacts to touches (its light turns on). The only way out of the situation is to hold the “Turn Off” button to restart the computer. The same happens when I run two virtual machines and at the same time open a browser (or big enough application) on my host.

I have enough memory on my disk to run virtual machines, and virtualization is allowed. The Task Manager shows that the CPU uses about 16% of its power, and memory usage is 63% right before the moment my laptop just turns off after launching the third virtual machine. I was also told that my laptop allows me to run at least four VMs easily and that the problem might be in programming.

P.S.: I beg for help because I need this damn machine to work to pass my exams...

Are the VMs located in the same folder? Are they sharing the same resource, like a virtual disk file?

Each machine has it's own folder, but they are located on one disk. And each one has it's own resources.

If I read your response correctly, the VMs are using the same virtual disk? If so, that could be the problem. Ideally, each VM should have it's own disk.

Excuse me for misunderstanding, but no - not virtual, I meant that they are using one real physical disk. Each of machine has it's own virtual disk as it should be.

Actually, I think the problem might be in a lack of RAM. Each machine has 2 GB of RAM. When I start all three of them, my computer shuts down. Recently I changed settings so that one machine has 4 GB and the other one has 2 GB. When I started them simultaneusly, my computer shut down. This far I've got since I posted about my problem.

Win10 alone normally uses ~5 GB of RAM or more, depending on background/startup applications like AV, assorted cloud storage apps, etc., so, if trying to run 3 VMs with 2 GB of RAM allocated to each, you'd probably be best be starting with 16 GB of RAM minimum....
