Hi. I have an 11 year old son who needs medication with him at all times, having a life-threatening nut allergy. He is very forgetful. I'm looking at how technology could help us, and wondering if a product might exist which would alert him if he forgets his medical bag. Perhaps a separation alarm which links to a phone or a Smart Watch? Any thoughts would be very welcome. Thanks

There are medical tags for all types of monitoring of patients vitals.  One for diabetes is to monitor glucose and sugar levels and it works off of BlueTooth so I assume it is just short range.  Really important for parents to be able to monitor without disturbing any activities.  Proximity alarms present some new technology that hasn't really been exploited yet.  Interesting idea.  Two devices that will alarm when removed from each others presence.

I could only find this so far, using search criteria as per your question. It might provide a stepping stone for you or others reading your post-

JSMEE,

While there may be things that can assist, I will have to say that it is imperative (barring cognitive issues not previously mentioned) that your son eventually habituate himself to monitoring for the presence/absence of his epipen (I'm presuming) on his own.   It is really the best and only insurance those who have life threatening allergy conditions can have along with knowing how to self-administer very quickly if at all possible.  Technology cannot be the thing to rely upon in an instance like this.
