NVIDIA has acknowledged performance issues affecting systems with NVIDIA GPUs after installing the Windows 11 22H2 Update.

"Some users may observer lower performance in games or applications after updating to Microsoft Windows 11 2022 Update," the company says in a support article published over the weekend.

The official fix for this known issue is to update the company's GeForce Experience software suite to the 3.26 Beta version, which addresses the problems.

NVIDIA added that the non-Beta version of NVIDIA GeForce Experience 3.26 is expected to be available with a new GeForce Game Ready Driver later this week.

To update to the latest NVIDIA GeForce Experience beta version, you can use one of the following methods:

  1. Manually download the NVIDIA GeForce Experience v3.26 installer from HERE. Once downloaded, proceed with the installation.
  2. From the GeForce Experience app, open up "Settings" in GeForce Experience and select "Enable Experimental Features." Then close GeForce Experience. Wait 30 seconds and then re-open GeForce Experience. The app will automatically update to the latest version.

NVIDIA's confirmation was prompted by a stream of user reports shared across several online platforms and on Microsoft's own online community.

For instance, users said on Reddit [123] that they're experiencing stuttering and massive lag while playing games due to significant drops in CPU usage after installing the Windows 11 22H2 Update.

Customers have also shared on Microsoft's community site that they had encountered similar issues, with a drop in CPU usage down to 5% that triggers significant gaming lag.

The thing that made it obvious the latest Windows 11 update was behind these issues is that multiple affected users said the gaming performance issues vanished after rolling back the update.

NVIDIA Software QA Manuel Guzman followed up on Reddit at the time and confirmed the company was aware of this issue, advising affected Reddit users to provide additional feedback.

For now, if you're not comfortable installing Beta software on your system, you might want to hold back from updating to Windows 11 22H2 until NVIDIA GeForce Experience 3.26 reaches stable and Microsoft acknowledges these gaming performance issues.
