If your signing into your Google account your bookmarks will be reimported

instantly as if they're cached though? I think sometimes just signing into wifi is enough to recall those bookmarks then. When logging in for the 'first' time, make sure the device doesnt have the box checked to allow other users to login if that's a choice..

these HP chromebooks are menacingly creepy in all the classic ways Windows PCs became creepy, but in a more professional sorta way...i wouldnt buy another. personally. And the whole balad you have to perform and agree to wave rights and stuff away in order to even think about asking for help at the HP support forums is unacceptable to me..

As time goes on, i am pretty sure it will not matter to kids or younger people introduced to this stuff early on, but it definately is not a fun experience overall

Greetings, folks. Wow, it's been a year already since I posted? What the... Anyway, I have a couple of comments and a question or two.First, the Chromebook with the balky keys is still being used as a monitor for my horse racing addiction but once in a while the video just freezes and maybe 4 times in the last six months the picture just fades out - not a major problem.  Still gets updates and I have Volume Booster installed and it works well increasing volume. The older unit, past the AUE date is still being used but I noticed 2 things: One, certain banks will not function with it. They give the message to update or you can't open an account. I do maybe 4-8 of these bank bonuses a year by opening accounts offering $300, $400, $600 etc. just to open so I use the new unit I have in storage. Second, extensions like Volume Booster also do not function - same reason. I have had no security issues and it's been past AUE for years now. I know you guys are gonna tell me: you do this, then do that, then add LINUX, then...  I'm not the guy for that stuff so we stop right there. The plan is to get rid of one or both of these and take the new one out. The QUESTION: When you Powerwash these things and hand them to somebody supposedly they can't retrieve any info or see anything that you have done without the sign-in credentials. Is this correct?? That may be the prevailing opinion but I'm gonna guess that there is somebody on here who has a different view. Personally, i think if you know the tricks you can retrieve stuff but I'm guessing. Listen, there are hackers who can hack the space satellites and I'm suppossed to believe some genius hacker in a mustard-stained Batman tee shirt in his basement can't retrieve stuff from these Chromebooks? Intuitively, I think they can but I do not know. Sure, I could take a hammer to the guts of these Chromebooks and end their lives that way but that seems like overkill, unless somebody here tells me YES, they can retrieve stuff off of these things if they are high level tech guys. In that case I go to the hammer. I want 100% guarantee that if I turn these things in to somebody they can't retrieve anything. Black Friday is coming up and and I can pick up Chromebook number 4 for me for the price of 3 cases of Miller Extra Light. So, I buy a new one on Black Friday and have 2 new ones and junk these 2. Hammer or Powerwash or what else can be done to eliminate retrieval risk? Thanks in advance to anybody who wants to deal with my Chromebook insanity. I actually would hate to smash these things up - don't ask me why. It makes no sense. Also, any complicated tech stuff I could do  to wipe these clean is gonna be over my head in most cases and I won't wanna do it anyway. Is POWERWASH foolproof??
