SkyHub, though I'm not sure if they were at fault or not. There was an ad for SkyHub 1TB Lifetime Cloud backup, which specifically stated that external drives were included. Since almost all of my data is on an external drive, I jumped at the chance. When I installed the client and tried to select the external drive, the message appeared that "only local drives are supported."
I contacted the store and SkyHub. The store responded that I had a ticket, then a few days later said they were sorry they hadn't gotten to me, then asked how I would rate their support.
Days later, SkyHub contacted me and confirmed that the offer was for local drives only. I mentioned the wording of the ad and was ready to put it all down to a $50 Learning Experience, when SkyHub told me that had changed my account to include external drives. So I am happy now.
I see that the offer is back in the store, with the same note that external drives are included. I hope that's the case now.

Question: when you add an item to your cart, it asks you to register to the newsletter to get a 10% discount on anything on the store. However, when I enter my email address, it says that it's already in use. Why? Because the newsletter was added 2-3 months ago here on BleepingComputer but never really had any purpose. But because of this, it seems that anyone who registered back then cannot register again and get the 10% discount offer from the Deals Store. Is that on purpose, or is it a bug?

That's odd...I used my same user name, email address and password that I established for Bleeping Computer way back when, and it did allow me to use the same for creating an account in the store. When I checked out my first purchase, it allowed the code for the 10 percent discount.
I was never asked about a newsletter, but then some things seem to have changed recently. (The online backup offer is from a different company, for example.) I don't honestly know if the rules have been changed, and if so, why. I'm thinking it might be some kind of protection for current BC forum members, but it seems to have backfired in your case.

Aura, the e-mail registration you use for the store isn't actually connected with BC. Have you signed up for StackCommerce elsewhere and used that e-mail address? That was the issue with one of our Mods. here.

You may not have heard of them as stackcommerce. Many sites have their store on their sites..if you join at one store I believe you join at all the rest. As for the newsletter, on checkout it appears their newsletter is ticked by default. You have signed up and not realized it?
