Hello. I am looking to either build or buy or pay someone to build a new system. Are there services like that that won't break a bank?

Something Mid-High Range in a mid-tower. Will it be cheaper to just buy or to build?

Below I will drop a link to my first attempt at custom build. I was hoping for about $1,500. But it looks like $2,200 plus tax. Any suggestions are welcome: https://www.microcenter.com/site/content/custom-pc-builder.aspx?load=916205ee-42cc-4503-b297-a45db55f2be1

I want Intel i7

32 Gig RAM

12-16 Gig VRAM with a card that can run latest games and applications. Not sure if I want AMD or NVIDIA

1-2 TB SSD for windows and games

6-8TB Internal HDD for storage.

1 Optical Drive

8 USB 3

2 USB C

Latest WiFi and Bluetooth

Quiet cooling.

Thank you.

First suggestion off the top: you want an external drive for image backups for safety, and same for storage drives, HDD or otherwise. Why?  Viruses now, especially the feared encryption attacks, can jump from drive to drive as long as they are connected on the same circuit. By making your backup / data-save to an external drive and disconnect it from the computer you and your data are safe.

You should be making regular image backups to an external drive. That is the only sure way of protecting yourself from the sophisticated attacks that are out there now.

Many don't want to bother and pay the price; our virus help forum is the busiest on the website, and most of those would not have to post for help if they would make regular image backups.

If there are no responses to my post for 3 days I remove it from my answer list. If you wish to continue the thread after 3 days please PM me.

Thank you for your suggestion. However, for my needs, which is not backup as I do use external backup drive to backup images, and about to do an incremental backup. I need it to store my media and other items I would rather have on mechanical drive. I did change it from 10TB to 6TB and saved me $100.
