Wondering if there are any good "ad blockers" for android, specifically the youtube app. Kinda getting annoyed with the work around of using firefox's mobile browser + uBlock Origin as it's a drain on the battery and turns my phone in to a heated slab.

Depends on your make of Android as Samsung has stuff in their store and if got through Google store.   Reputable only due to fake stuff out there :

https://www.google.com/search?client=firefox-b-d&q=ad+blocker+for+android   You do not really say what you want to pair it with.

There is also VPN

The only ad blocker I have used on Firefox is Adblock Plus. See if it is available for Android phones. I also

use NoScript on Firefox...it takes a bit to learn how best to use it but it blocks ad, tracking and malicious scripts.

I haven't tried either on an Android phone.

It's an LG Phone. But I used to use Blockada before they went Pay to use. I don't recall Blockada ever blocking ads on the Youtube App, But i'm really not trying to go through Firefox again. I was just wondering if there are any other standalone apps out there that can be recommended.

Adguard might be the go to, though the work around for YT app is kinda annoying, still. Thanks for the suggestion Cryptodan.

Adguard has a suggested workaround of playing it via their app to remove ads. Not what I'm looking for, but as I'm reading Adguard's page it makes me think there isn't really a foolproof way of removing ads from YouTube's app without any of the workarounds.
