Do you think the US government would save Firefox? Because of the Tor browser which is not only used by the masses but law enforcement and other government agencies.

Things aren't looking so great for Firefox right now. That's I ask this question.

The following is IMHO based on years of experience with this kind of issue.

First, FF will be fine. Mozilla is well-established with a large, contented users' group, myself included.

No, the US govt. will not invest millions to save FF if it crashes. It is not of vital necessity to the security or welfare of the nation, and the govt. can create its own version of TOR if necessary.

Well then you know all the goofy things they've been lately it kinda reminds me the Gnome situation. Things that have nothing to do with tech, their just blowing their money pointlessly. :(

I don't mean to be rude, but I think this is a bit overkill/dramatic. No business is perfect, I don't think the recent "goofs" are tell-tale of any sort of crash. People are people, and they make bad judgement calls or make moves that are less than ideal. Nothing is black and white.

As far as the US Govt. is concerned - absolutely not. That's not really what the government is for - for the most part, the government governs. They don't take over for companies to "revive" software - not to my knowledge anyways.

All that being said, my advice would be to give it time. All good things come to an end, but there are something like 8 billion people in the world. About 1:4 people in the US alone work in the tech industry. There's always new up-and-coming software even if Firefox were to "crash". The glass is always full of something, it might not be what you're focused on but it is always full. Sometimes a shift in perspective is most beneficial in times that continuously change. I would check out the poem about King Ozymandias if you haven't heard of it.

Well SwimminThruGrey theres the LadyBird browser but that's still in pre-alpha. So I hope if Firefox dies off hopefully it will in time for the LadyBird browser's official release.

Very true, there's always gonna be options - I do think the US government will be harder on Google's anti-competition practices going forward which will open things up a bit more/give other peoples browsers a chance

:thumbup2: I just hope that other browsers can come out before Firefox possibly implodes.

My favorite browser is also Mozilla Firefox, and I even use many Mozilla Firefox and Chromium-based web browsers that already are available.

And whenever LadyBird becomes available in a stable version for Windows, I will start using that browser as well.

Good luck! :)
