Kia ora everyone,

I have a problem which I assume is fairly common but after hours of searching I cannot find a solution on the internet.

A client was using Outlook (as part of Office 2010) to access business emails which were downloaded as set up as POP3. She last created a backup PST file about a year ago. Outlook crashed during an update and my guess is it's irreparable. The issue is how to connect to those emails that are stored on her computer but not part of the PST emails.

I would like to install an updated version of Outlook (say via Office 2021 Pro Plus) but have no idea if it will connect to those emails automatically, or delete all the old Outlook mail.

Ideally, the solution required is to import the PST, import the emails stored on the computer, and reconnect to the mail server using OPO3 again.

Any ideas would be appreciated thanks

In your client's case, it's likely that all her Outlook data is contained within a single PST file - the emails will not be present anywhere else on her computer.

You should be able to repair a faulty Outlook installation, but if you can't, then you can simply import her current PST into the new Outlook.
